A little girl and a contented little boy are examining the earnings she holds in her hand. A basket full of fruit, which is in itself a still-life of the highest quality, at their feet.
The frame is gilded with gold leaves.
Copy of The Little Fruit Seller, 1670-75, by the Spanish painter Murillo; presently exhibited in the Alte Pinakothek, Munich.

Estate of Ravenscrag, the mansion built in 1863 by Sir Hugh Allan, donated by Lady Allan (his daughter-in law) to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal, in 1940; three years later it became (and still is) the Allan Memorial Institute.
