The hinged lid depicting tavern scene with seated men; one is holding a mug another is lighting a pipe. To the base a large jug on a lathed floor (amazing details of wood knots and nails), to the top a shelf supporting a variety of pots and hanging jugs. The front is depicting, in the Dutch manner, a charming village activities with numerous figures drinking, playing cards, or dancing, there is also room for a seated couple and musicians !
