Formed by a vase made of breccia marble, embellished with a magnificent ornamentation of chiseled and gilded bronzes
The stems are crowned with a flower forming a bobèche
Interlacing of acanthus leaves connect them to the central stem
The marble body is sculpted in slightly twisted melon ribs Height 67cm

Henry Vian (1860–1905) is a bronzier and ironworker, active towards the end of the 19th century, he drew his inspiration mainly from the most beautiful models of the 17th century.
His studio was located at 5 rue de Thorigny, 3rd arrondissement, Paris, at the Hôtel Salé, the current Musée national Picasso-Paris.
Henri Vian participated in the Universal Exhibitions of 1878, 1889 and 1900
He was a gold medalist in 1889.

Formée par un vase réalisé en marbre de brèche, agrémenté d'une magnifique ornementation de bronzes ciselés et dorés 
Les tiges sont sommées d'une fleur formant bobèche
Des entrelacs de feuilles d'acanthes les relient à la tige centrale 
La panse en marbre est sculptée en côtes de melon légèrement torsadés

Henri Vian est un bronzier et ferronnier d'art, actif vers la fin du XIXe siècle, il puisé son inspiration essentiellement aux plus beaux modèles du XVIIe siècle.
Son atelier était situé au 5 rue de Thorigny, 3e arrondissement, Paris, à l'Hôtel Salé, l'actuel Musée national Picasso-Paris.
Henri Vian a participé aux Expositions Universelles de 1878, 1889 et 1900
Il fut médaillé d'or en 1889.
