A terracotta ocarina with black paint and gold accent;
11 finger holes, 2 key-covered holes and mouth tube projecting out from the body with a cracked ivory embouchure;
marked C8 on side of mouthpiece; some letters in gold still visible (indication of notes?);
oval stamp with H. FIENN OCARINA and double undecipherable stamp with a visible date 1877.

The ocarina is a musical wind instrument resembling a small goose without head thus the name derived from Italian meaning little goose.
The classical shape as known today was created by Giuseppe Donati in 1853.
