Winding crank on the left side of the case; zither and tune indicator; switches on the right
Lid with rosewood floral inlays; inner glass dust cover; the case has two cast ornate handles
The bronze badge inside says «1881 Longue Marche Patented 1879»
Paillard stamp underneath the case with black ink

In 1875, Paillard built the first musical box factory and the company's name was listed among the giants of Swiss music box manufacture .
In 1894, the company ceased production of music boxes and started producing phonographs, gramophones, clockwork motors and typewriters.
