A Vienna porcelain transfer-printing plate depicting a famous passage of Homer's epic poem Odyssey where Odysseus (Ulysses) the main hero, standing at the ship's prow is boasting to the one-eyed giant Polyphemus that he is the one who hurt him.
His men are preparing the boat to escape the island of the Cyclops and Polyphemus is throwing a rock at them.

The reverse is inscribed with the title Odysseus and Kyklope. Signed on the inner border K. Rädler.

Possibly Josef Karl Rädler (1844-1917) an Austrian painter who started his carreer in Vienna by decorating plates. 1870's.
