William Shayer Senior had 10 children, among them four are famous artists: William Joseph Shayer (1811 - 1892), Edward Dashwood Shayer (1821 - 1864), Henry Thring (1825 - 1894) and finally our Charles Waller (1826 - 1914). The last two sons by his second marriage lived and worked with their father.
Charles painted landscapes, sporting scenes, animals, he is noted for painting a realistic type of horse and is considered to be the best horse painter of the Shayer family.
